Join us for a fabulous week of a cappella gospel singing in Fiji with Tony and the ever-singing Fijians in a beautiful setting on the shore of Savusavu Bay in Fiji's northern island of Vanua Levu. The lovely little DAKU RESORT resort is “well-kept, low-key, very sweet, with a gorgeous family managing it” according to a previous visitor. The programme offers morning workshops followed by a mixture of
afternoon visits to local villages to sing with their dynamic choirs, and free time to snorkel on the reef, hike up the mountain, enjoy a massage or laze by the pool with a book. Does it get any better than this? Here's what some previous participants said:

Margie Welsford:

'Tony is a weaver of magic. He can sculpt a disparate group of people with mostly average voices (there were a few exceptions) into a choir that makes beautiful music. I have done workshops with Tony before but nothing prepared me for the pleasure, sense of achievement and sheer joy of working up a repertoire of songs over 6 days that culminated in a performance for the locals of Savusavu. I loved trying to sing in Fijian with the Yaroi church choir, while struggling to read the unfamiliar musical notation. The Fijians sandwiched us in so close to them that we could “feel” the music through our skin and not just through our ears.'

'Village visits – the absolute highlight of the week. Being able to see how local people live their lives, and the role music plays in their culture, was very special – singing with them was even more so. And Tony is the most natural, humorous and supportive teacher.'

Accommodation is at Daku Resort in Savusavu on Fiji’s northern island of Vanua Levu – a 50-minute plane ride from Nadi.
We stay in traditional bure-style cottages with beautiful views out over Savusavu Bay – a stunning setting for the week.

Costs and booking
Cost: $2980 twin share –covers international flights ex-Sydney / Brisbane, accommodation, meals at Daku Resort, excursions and course fees, and domestic flights from Nadi to Savusavu return. $350 single supplement.
